The early music students at the Schulich School of Music are thrilled to present a student-led production that transports audiences to the golden age of French Baroque opera. Step back in time to the court of Versailles in 1745 with a fully staged performance of Les Fêtes de Ramire. Set in medieval Spain, the story follows the captive princess Fatime—taken by the conquering Alphonse—and her rescue by Alphonse’s son, Prince Ramire. What follows is a lavish transformation: Fatime’s prison becomes the scene of grand ceremonies, music, dance, and a triumphant celebration of love.
