Aaron Tan, a doctoral organ student at the Eastman School of Music with a PhD in engineering from the University of Michigan, has won the $25,000 first prize of the Canadian International Organ Competition. The 75th Geneva International Music Competition is starting this Saturday! The 16 candidates qualified for the semi-finals will be performing in Geneva from 23-26 October. Cellists will have to perform a 60-minute program, which includes a Sonata by Boccherini or J.S. Bach, a solo contemporary piece and the remaining program at free choice.
