Cecilia Concerts Presents: Enigmatic and sensual Québec singer/songwriter, Pierre Lapointe, collaborates with our 2018/19 Musician-In-Residence, pianist Philip Chiu, and celebrated cellist, Cameron Crozman, on this concert interpretation of selections from his latest album La science du cœur—originally written for electronics and string orchestra—re-imagined here for piano, cello, and voice with arrangements by Parisian composer David François Moreau, along with works by Erik Satie, Francis Poulenc, Claude Debussy, and Kurt Weill. A pop artist resonating with the more rock-like rhythms of the nouvelle chanson and who regularly collaborates with classical artists, Lapointe, along with dramatic turns on Quebec’s La voix, has found huge critical and commercial success in Québec and in Europe while exploring the sometimes-paradoxical, often passionate, affaire du cœur classical musical has with its popular cousin.

Pierre Lapointe, auteur-compositeur-interprète québécois, artiste énigmatique et sensuel, collabore avec le pianiste Philip Chiu, artiste en résidence de l’année 2018/19, et le violoncelliste Cameron Crozman, pour interpréter des extraits de son dernier album La science du cœur, écrit pour électronique et orchestre à cordes, et réinventé pour ce concert pour piano, violoncelle et voix avec des arrangements du compositeur parisien David François Moreau. Figurereront aussi au programme des œuvres d’Erik Satie, Francis Poulenc, Claude Debussy et Kurt Weill. Artiste pop résolument intéressé par les accents rock de la « nouvelle chanson », Pierre Lapointe collabore régulièrement avec des artistes classiques. Il a participé à l’émission de télévision québécoise La voix, et rencontre un énorme succès critique et commercial au Québec et en Europe.
