Depuis sa fondation en 1948, Pro Musica présente chaque année une brillante saison sans laquelle, dans le domaine de la musique de chambre, la scène montréalaise ne serait pas ce qu’elle est. Débutant déjà sa 66e saison, notre organisme a présenté une multitude de concerts ou récitals et a fait applaudir des centaines d’artistes canadiens ou étrangers de réputation internationale : chanteurs ou instrumentistes de toutes disciplines et de formations de toutes tailles (solos, duos, trios, quatuors, quintettes, petits orchestres). Au total, ce sont près de 4000 oeuvres puisées à tous les répertoires, à toutes les époques et à toutes les écoles que le public montréalais a pu découvrir et apprécier. Cette année encore, nous vous présentons une saison des plus enlevantes, mettant en vedette des musiciens remarquables. Parallèlement à la présentation de sa saison annuelle, la Société Pro Musica poursuit un rôle éducatif; elle contribue à la formation de la relève parmi les artistes montréalais et au renouvellement du public de la musique de chambre qui, d’années en années, est ravi de faire de merveilleuses découvertes. Notre action pédagogique se double d’une action philanthropique qui nous est chère: en effet, depuis plusieurs années chaque saison est l’occasion d’accueillir des mélomanes non-voyants accompagnés. Cette triple vocation, artistique, pédagogique et philanthropique, Pro Musica la met au service de tous les Montréalais car, les principaux groupes ethniques et culturels qui font la richesse de Montréal sont représentés dans ses auditoires. Joignez-vous à nous et aidez-nous ainsi à poursuivre un mandat déjà vieux de plus de soixante-cinq ans, pour le plus grand bonheur de nos jeunes musiciens, des mélomanes, de la musique de chambre et de la musique en général! ---------------------------------------- Since its very beginning in 1948, Pro Musica Societ’sy musical season has always been a brilliant one and, without its series, the Montreal cultural scene would not be quite the same. Our mission: to offer Montreal music lovers a vast selection of chamber music from all repertoires and for all instruments. In the course of those sixty-five years, Pro Musica has presented concerts and recitals at which hundreds of internationally prominent musicians from Canada and abroad were greeted with repeated applause: singers and instrumentalists from all disciplines performing in musical ensembles of all sizes (s0lo, duos, trios, quartets, small orchestras). In total, close to 4,000 works chosen from all repertoires, periods and schools were performed, which the Montreal public was able to discover and enjoy. Again this year, we present a most exciting season, showcasing remarkable musicians. In addition to the presentation of its annual musical season, Pro Musica fulfills an important educational objective by offering young brilliant artists on the brink of an international career a chance to be recognized, thus supporting the next generation of upcoming musicians. Furthermore, the Society has offered guidance in this world of chamber music to a young audience and distributed free tickets each year to our music faculty students. Also, for the past twenty years, Pro Musica has set aside full subscriptions for visually-impaired individuals and an accompanying friend. By offering young listeners an introduction to chamber music and giving free concert tickets to students of our different Music Faculties, Pro Musica is nurturing a new generation of music lovers. Pro Musica puts this triple vocation, artistic, pedagogic and philanthropic, at the service of all Montrealers and all major ethnic and cultural groups which make up the richness of the city are represented in its audiences.
