Schreker: Kammersymphonie
Beethoven: Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major for Piano and Orchestra, op.73, Emperor
KWS Music Director Andrei Feher returns to the stage joined by celebrated Canadian pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin for an evening of mesmerizing works. Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto is one of the most accomplished of them all, ahead of its time with its virtuosic style and wide dynamic range. Schreker’s Kammersymphonie is compact in its immense emotional range and narrative, reminiscent of Schoenberg, Ravel, Webern, Strauss, and Mahler all at the same time. These sublime, swirling, and magically evocative works are love at first hearing
Following the Government of Ontario’s announcements on December 15th and 17th, all KWS performances at Centre In The Square have been reduced to a 50% capacity, with non-socially distanced seating. No concessions will be available, and masks must be worn at all times on the premises, including while seated. Proof of vaccination is required to attend and only the Province’s Enhanced Vaccine Certificate with QR code will be accepted. We appreciate your understanding during this time.
Tickets and Seating:
All 2021/22 season concerts are single tickets only, no subscriptions are available.
Please note:
Unless otherwise stated, all KWS performances in the 2021/22 Season will have no intermission and there will be no Preludes prior to Signature Series concerts.
