CMIM Announces Three Finalists of the Art Song Division

Montreal, June 3, 2022 – The six semifinalists of the Art Song division, along with their collaborative pianists, returned to the stage this Friday with a series of spectacular recitals. Traversing the rich Art Song repertoire, in multitude of styles and languages, and encompassing both standard and contemporary repertoire, each candidate once again demonstrated their undeniable artistry and was met with the enthusiastic applause of the public present in the Bourgie Hall.

The deliberation of the Voice 2022 jury which took place thereafter concluded with the nomination of three finalists. A draw once again determined the order in which these competitors will take the stage.

Finalists – ART SONG

In order of appearance

On Sunday June 5, 2 p.m. at the Bourgie Hall of the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal:

  1. Bryan Murray, baritone (United States)
  2. Harriet Burns, soprano (United Kingdom)
  3. Meredith Wohlgemuth, soprano (United States)


Among the prizes offered at VOIX 2022, the CMIM, in partnership with the Lupien Family Foundation, will present the John-Newmark Collaborative Pianist Award (valued at $5,000).

The Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM) aims to discover and help the world’s most promising young singers, violinists and pianists. The CMIM is the only international competition in North America to be held annually and to feature three disciplines (piano, voice, and violin) in a three-year rotation. Since its first edition dedicated to Voice in 2002, 3,700 hopefuls have applied, and some 500 competitors have been welcomed to perform before enthusiastic audiences in Montreal.
