The TSO welcomes the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra on a tour honouring Bramwell Tovey’s final season as Music Director. He pays homage to his English heritage with the quintessential English orchestral work, the beguiling book of character sketches that makes up Elgar’s “Enigma” Variations. His frequent concerto partner, famed Canadian violinist James Ehnes, is the soloist for the profoundly expressive concerto by Brahms, plus a suite from Bramwell Tovey’s opera The Inventor.
