Cecilia Concerts Presents: The Rolston String Quartet—jointly named one of CBC Radio’s Hot Canadian Classical Musicians Under 30—stormed onto the international classical music scene this past year with sold-out concerts in Europe and North America, performing at the Smithsonian, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Koerner Hall at the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music, and the Esterhazy Palace. First Prize winner of the 12th Banff International String Quartet Competition, the quartet also won First Prize at the 31st Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition, in addition to scooping awards at the inaugural M-Prize Competition and the Durosoir Prize at the 2016 Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition. The quartet currently serves as Graduate Quartet-in-Residence at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. They will perform a program that includes works by Haydn, Schafer, and Beethoven.

Le Rolston String Quartet, qui fait partie de la prestigieuse liste des musiciens de moins de 30 ans à suivre de CBC Radio, a fait sensation sur la scène internationale cette année avec des concerts à guichets fermés en Europe et en Amérique du Nord que ce soit au Smithsonian, au Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, au Koerner Hall au Conservatoire royal de musique de Toronto ou au Palais Esterhazy. Premier prix du 12e Concours international de quatuors à cordes de Banff, il a également raflé le premier prix du 31e Concours de musique de chambre de Yellow Springs, ainsi que des prix au concours inaugural M-Prize aux États-Unis et le prix Lucien Durosoir 2016 du concours international de quatuor à cordes de Bordeaux. Le quatuor est en résidence à l’école de musique Shepherd de l’Université Rice. Au programme : des œuvres de Haydn, Schäfer et Beethoven.
