Pianist Jingquan Xie has been praised for “making music that goes beyond the technical demands of the music” and “an artistry that is well worth listening to” (Toronto Concert Reviews). She performs a virtuosic and fantastical program that includes Scriabin’s Piano Sonata No. 2 and Schumann’s Fantasie in C major, which he wrote as a deep lament during a period of enforced separation from Clara Wieck, who later became his wife.
