April 10th, 2025 (Edmonton, Alberta) Ballet Edmonton presents PRECIPICE, a triple-header evening of bold new contemporary dance theatre by Artistic Director Kirsten Wicklund and Emerging Choreographers.
This program marks the edge of a season forging toward new territory with a WORLD PREMIERE new work by Kirsten Wicklund. Approaching the close of her inaugural season with Ballet Edmonton, Wicklund crafts a new creation, reflecting on the brink of potential, the tipping point — the moment of change itself. Alongside this work, company members and emerging choreographers Matthew Wyllie and Diego Ramalho present WORLD PREMIERE works as part of Ballet Edmonton’s Emerging Choreographic Platform. This precipice of possibility paves the way for future dance-makers of our time.
The Emerging Choreographic Platform was created to provide creation opportunities that lead to tangible performance opportunities for artists currently working inside the company. Those selected will have full creation support, including mentorship periods with established choreographic voices. These works are sure to break the bounds of what we know and take you, our audience on an exciting journey into new possibilities.
