The TSYO opens its season under the direction of its Artistic Director & Conductor Earl Lee with an emotionally charged program. It begins with the intertwining motifs of Fate and Destiny in Verdi’s overture to his opera La forza del destino, then journeys through Smetana’s rippling symphonic poem “The Moldau”. Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 brings a haunting intensity to the second half of the concert.
