This candlelight vigil is offered in support of the Douglas Foundation for Mental Health Research and Care. Light in the Darkness is a hopeful concert where comfort and catharsis coexist. From the intensity and darkness of Francis Poulenc’s Quatre motets pour un temps de pénitence, we will move towards luminous works, including Constellation by Canadian composer Marie-Claire Saindon and Rejoice in the Lamb by Benjamin Britten. The program’s turning point will be the world premiere of the work Planctus cygni, written for the occasion by Cui Wei and Kirsty Campbell, two choristers of the A&P Choir.
Free will offering (30$ suggested).
