Michele Duguay
Michèle est traductrice et représentante en vente à La Scena Musicale, et y occupait précédemment le poste d’assistante à la rédaction. Après avoir obtenu son baccalauréat en musique à l’Université d’Ottawa en 2014, elle s’est établie à Montréal pour y poursuivre une maitrise en théorie musicale à l’université McGill. Elle complète présentement une thèse au sujet des tempéraments inégaux au 19e siècle et de leur influence sur la musique de Frédéric Chopin. Elle débutera un doctorat en musique à City University of New York en septembre 2016. Le piano, la guitare, et la lecture comptent parmi ses autres intérêts.35 articles
Jeanne Hourez
Jeune pianiste de la scène française, Jeanne est diplômée du Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris dans les classes de George Pludermacher, Haruko Ueda et Frank Braley, et de l'Université de Montréal dans la classe de Dang Thai Son. Elle a reçu les conseils de grands maîtres tels Michel Merlet, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Jacques Rouvier et Stephen Kovacevich entre autres. Elle a été récompensée dans plusieurs concours : Premier Grand Prix au concours Flame (2007), au concours d'Aix-en-Provence, au concours Alain Marinaro (2015), lauréate du concours de l'OPMEM à Montréal. Elle apprécie l'enseignement et la musique de chambre qu'elle partage avec d'autres musiciens en différentes formations et suit actuellement une licence de littérature française à Montréal afin d’orienter une partie de sa carrière vers la critique musicale.33 articles
Vasyl Pawlowsky
Vasyl Pawlowsky holds a B.A. in Slavic Languages and Literartures from the University of Waterloo, an M.A. in the same, specializing in 20th century Ukrainian literature from the University of Ottawa, and a Masters in Library and Information Studies from McGill University. He has worked in the aerospace, educational and legal sectors as an information specialist, in both Canada and Ukraine. He has also experience in both print and broadcast journalism, as a copy writer, editor, producer and program host. Xenia Hanusiak
Xenia Hanusiak is a cultural journalist and critic, essayist, poet, writer for stage, and festival curator whose work is published and performed across the globe. Informed by her practice as an opera singer and scholar, Xenia has given the world and country premieres of some of the most influential composers of our time including Kaija Saariaho, John Harbison, Elena Kats-Chernin and Zhang Xiaofu for some of the world’s leading festivals including the Next Wave Festival, (New York), Kennedy Center (Washington), Singapore Arts Festival, Gruppo Aperto Musica Oggi (Florence) and Beijing Music Festival. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing & Literature and, is a visiting scholar at Columbia University (New York), Peking University and Kookmin University (Korea). Her works for the stage include: the play Ward B; Un_labelled (Elena Kats-Chernin, Young Peoples’ Chorus of New York City); the libretto A thousand doors, a thousand windows (Melbourne International Arts Festival, Singapore Arts Festival); Earth Songs (Homart Theatre) and the dramatic monologue, The MsTaken Identity (Adelaide Festival of Arts/Australian String Quartet). Carol Xiong is ever-interested in connecting disparate cultures and human experiences. She holds a Master of Music from the Unversité de Montréal, a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music, as well as an ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
