La famille LeBlanc’s music will take you on a musical journey through Poitou in France, where the Acadians arrived as refugees in the mid-18th century, then on to Louisiana and back to Canada’s east coast for a feast of Acadian musicality.
This family with Acadian roots plays a variety of 19th-century tunes unknown to other Celtic nations such as Ireland, Brittany and Scotland. Their repertoire is deeply rooted in Celtic and Acadian traditions. The three daughters perform on the concertina, whistle and fiddle. The mother also sings some of the oldest Acadian songs and ballads, accompanied by baroque, jazz and traditional piano arrangements by the father of the family. Make way for the show!
