Ran Wang is a Guzheng performer with over 20 years of experience, whose artistic practice is rooted in the spiritual and meditative dimensions of sound. Trained at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and later at the Université de Montréal in Music Technology, her work explores the Guzheng not just as an instrument, but as a medium for stillness, resonance, and the perception of time.
Her music often merges improvisation, ambient textures, and intercultural collaboration, reflecting her interest in the dialogue between tradition and experimentation. Through collaborations with artists from Mexico, Mongolia, Iran and beyond, she seeks to reactivate ancient sensibilities in contemporary sound environments, cultivating a space for listening that is both inward and expansive.
