Tom Griesgraber is known for many roles in the music industry, but best known on stage for his mastery of the Chapman Stick. Until you’ve seen it performed live, his solo music sounds too big to be coming from just one person. There are acoustic guitar or piano-like moments, funk rock bass lines, ambient synth and soundscape textures, rock guitar leads, jazz solos and even small bits of percussion sometimes all happening simultaneously. Jim Meyer has been composing, performing and teaching on the Chapman Stick for over 25 years. His blend of original instrumentals and instrumental covers ranges from gentle to driving. Tonight’s performance wraps up Jim’s 25th annual Stick Camp Canada event, which brings an international group of musicians to BC for learning, sharing and performing with the Stick. Bob Culbertson is a touch soloist blending Celtic, Spanish, Eastern, Classical and Blues styles. Bob began playing the Stick shortly after its 1974 release. He has shared the stage with Robben Ford, Eric Martin, Tuck and Patti, Steve Morse, Allan Holdsworth, Dave Mason, Alex De Grassi and Tommy Emanual, among others. A prolific touring and recording artist, Bob has influenced generations of Stick players.
Mike Michalkow is a first-call drummer and clinician in the music and drumming scene. Mike is the author of “The Total Rock Drummer” and has probably performed live with more Stick players than any other drummer on the planet!
