Montreal, May 1st, 2025. Pro Musicia is proud to announce that the Armenian duo of Sergey Khachatryan on violin and Lusine Khachatryan on piano will offer the third concert in this prestigious series on Sunday, May 18th at 3 p.m. at Montreal’s Salle Pierre-Mercure.

Sergey Khachatryan won First Prize at the VIIIth International Jean Sibelius Competition in Helsinki in 2000, making him the youngest winner in the competition’s history, and First Prize at the 2005 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. For her part, Lusine Khatchatryan has won several international competitions, including the “Città di Ostra” International Piano Competition and the “Città di Marsala” in Italy (as well as the 2nd European Piano Competition in Normandy, Ouistreham and Le Havre, France). Together, they have recorded several albums for the French label Naïve, including the Sonatas for violin and piano by Franck and Shostakovich, the complete Sonatas for piano and violin by Brahms, and their My Armenia, dedicated to works by Armenian composers.
Sergey and his sister Lusine’s latest album, My Armenia (naïve), is dedicated to the commemoration of the centenary of the Armenian genocide. This recording was awarded the Echo Klassik prize for best chamber music recording of the 20th and 21st centuries/mixed ensemble.
