CALGARY, Canada, September 7, 2018 — Georgian pianist Nicolas Namoradze (age 26) has been named Prize Laureate of the 2018 Honens International Piano Competition. Montreal, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 – Last night, the names of the Aria finalists of the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM) were announced following two evenings of semi-final rounds at the Maison symphonique. Since May 29, 38 competitors from 20 countries have had the pleasure of performing in the CMIM’s 2018 Voice edition. Today mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo, tenor Andrew Hadji, tenor Mihail Mihaylov, soprano Dilyara Idrisova, baritone Kidon Choi and bass Jongsoo Yang, competed for one of the six spots in the finals  for the Aria division of the CMIM 2018 competition. Today mezzo-soprano Clara Osowski, baritone John Brancy, soprano Gemma Summerfield and baritone Julien Van Mellaerts performed to a full house at Bourgie Hall in the Finals of the Art Song division of CMIM 2018. Although the official results will only be announced on June 7, the winner appears to be Brancy. The first round of the Aria category of “Concours international de Montréal 2018” (CMIM) took place yesterday. Sixteen aspiring young singers from around the world, including four Canadians, gave their best effort in hopes to be part of the 12 chosen talents who will advance to the semi-finals and have the chance to sing at the Maison Symphonique with the participation of the OSM and conductor Graeme Jenkins.
