Closing Concert of the 2026 Festival
Jonathan Goldman has never been able to resist the gravitational pull of the emblematic tango music of Astor Piazzolla. This concert features Piazzolla’s music in new arrangements prepared by Goldman, for bandoneon and string quintet. Highlighting Piazzolla’s tango fugues—the pieces that Piazzolla wrote in the spirit of J.S. Bach—this concert also features Goldman’s poignant interpretation of Five Tango Sensations, the work that was Piazzolla’s final studio recording.
