A program of choral music tracing a spiritual journey from penitence to praise, in three distinct parts. “In Lamentation: The Shadow of Sorrow” establishes a theme of grief and supplication through contemplative works of Tallis, Gesualdo, and Josquin, “Light through the Veil” transitions towards consolation and hope, and “Renewal and Joy: Light Made Song” culminates in exuberant celebration, expressing joy, wonder, and the glory of creation through the vibrant works of Monteverdi, Palestrina, Byrd, and Schütz.
