Boris Brott (illustration by Hefka)

One single man
stood up on the podium
opened his arms
and embraced a community
of thousands
and thousands.
His upbeat
was as jovial as his voice
when telling a joke.
His downbeat was as solemn as his mind
when fighting for a cause.
His phrasing
was grand and generous
as he was
with his time for others.
His tempos were quick
and efficient
and his pacing was just right.

His finale
was shocking
abrupt
and too short.
But his community
of thousands
and thousands
are sending out
a thunderous applause
which is resounding everywhere.
The love they have for him
rings out
as one
song.
As one
heart beating.
As ONE.

And this one single man
has a coda for us all.
It can be played anytime, anywhere
It is a special coda, for it has a name:
Memories and Gratitude
