When the Zafraan and Paramirabo ensembles come together, the result goes beyond the simple sum of their talents: a temporary collective emerges, developing its own modes of interaction and perception. The two ensembles merge here into a new entity in which space, listening, and the relationships between performers become compositional elements. In Anna Korsun’s Spleen (2019), the musicians sit in a circle, back to back, without fixed metric cues. Communication relies on attentive listening and an instantaneous response to the subtlest sonic changes. The world premiere of ALARM FATIGUE II by Arshia Samsaminia extends this exploration by incorporating an electronic dimension. The culmination of the program, Ajtony Csaba’s Taajuu (2026), explores movement, transformation, and the sharing of leadership among the musicians.
