The Orchestre de chambre de la Montérégie, under the musical direction of Nicolas Ellis, accompanied by dancers from the École supérieure de ballet du Québec, are pleased to share their first webcast production. This initiative allows the organization to pursue its mission of providing access to music and the performing arts to a greater number of people, to support the next generation and musical education, and to maintain the Orchestra’s excellence. OSM Chamber Soloists: Beethoven’s Supreme Septet
Bringing together strings, woodwinds, and brass in an atypical ensemble formation for his time, Beethoven’s Septet gives all players an opportunity to shine through individualized writing. Composed with “taste and imagination” according to a contemporary critic, the work was so overwhelmingly successful from its premiere that it succeeded in exasperating its composer!
