Montreal, May 6 2026 – The Canadian International Organ Competition (CIOC) is thrilled to announce the international jury for the 7th edition of its triennial competition, taking place the 14 to 23 October of 2027! Eight internationally renowned organists, representing six countries, have been selected to bring their exceptional expertise as jury members for the competition.

The jury selected for the 2027 Canadian International Organ Competition, in alphabetical order:

Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin (France), co-titular of the église Saint-Sulpice in Paris.
Isabelle Demers (Canada), Associate Professor of Organ at McGill University (Montréal, Québec).
Jisung Kim (South Korea), Professor of Organ at Seoul Theological University in Korea.
Jean-Willy Kunz (France/Canada), Jury President, artistic director of the Canadian International Organ Competition.
Alan Morrison (USA), Head of the organ department at the Curtis Institute of Music.
Martin Sander (Germany), Professor of organ at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Munich and at the Hochschule für Musik (University of Music) in Basel.
Damin Spritzer (USA), Area Chair and Associate Professor of Organ at the University of Oklahoma.
Inger-Lise Ulsrud (Norway), Organ and organ improvisation professor at the Norges musikkhøgskole and a cantor at Uranienborg Church in Oslo.

In addition to their role as jury members, these artists will also offer concerts and exclusive masterclasses throughout the 2027 Grand Organ Festival, which takes place at the same time as the competition in October.

The rules and repertoire for all prospective competitors have been announced and are available to download here. Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2027.
