Lucas Debargue has already performed in the most prestigious concert halls, including the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, the Philharmonie de Paris and London’s Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Geneva’s Victoria Hall, Vienna’s Konzerthaus, Berlin’s Konzerthaus, Munich’s Prinzregententheater and Berlin’s Philharmonie, and many others in Seattle, Chicago, Montreal, Toronto, Mexico City, Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing, Taipei, Shanghai and Seoul.
He offers interpretations that revisit the classics. In addition to playing the piano, Lucas devotes a large portion of his time to composition and has already created over twenty works for piano solo and chamber ensembles, including the Suite in D minor on this concert’s program. Lucas has also been appointed “permanent guest” of Gidon Kremer’s orchestra, the Kremerata Baltica. The collaboration with this celebrated violinist marks the start of a great friendship, which has led to tours around the world and projects such as the premiere of Lucas’s Concertino in 2017 with the Kremerata, followed by the commission of an opera in 2020.
