Public Debate on the Arts
Montréal, September 4, 2015 – With the approaching Canadian federal election on October 19, 2015, La Scena Musicale, in collaboration with the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur, is organizing a public debate on the arts. Each of the five main political parties were invited to send a representative to discuss their platforms and plans to help the arts community. The debate will be bilingual (50% in English and 50% in French).

  • Pierre Nantel, MP and candidate for the NDP in Longueuil – St-Hubert, 
  • Jici Lauzon, candidate for the Green Party in Pierre-Boucher – Les Patriotes – Verchères, 
  • Stéphane Dion, MP and candidate for the Liberal Party in St-Laurent, 
  • and Sophie Stanké, candidate for the Bloc Québécois in Châteauguay-Lacolle

The debate is open free to the public and the arts community is invited to attend (reservations required). The debate will be recorded in video and the possibility of live streaming is being investigated.
