The benefit event will help a good cause, the fight to beat kidney disease, which currently affects over 550,000 people in Quebec. A word about kidney failure

According to estimates, one in 14 Quebecers suffers from renal failure. The incidence of renal failure among Quebecers is remarkably high. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the two main causes of kidney failure and are responsible for 50% to 60% of end-stage renal failure, the stage at which kidney function has declined to less than 15% of capacity. Once the disease reaches this stage, kidney patients’ only options for survival are dialysis or a transplant.
