Songs of the Earth brings acclaimed Canadian soprano Meghan Lindsay and pianist-composer Carson Becke together in a moving recital rooted in earthly belonging. The program pairs Richard Strauss’s luminous Four Last Songs with Becke’s The Forest, a song cycle based on six newly commissioned poems by Gatineau-Hills-based poets, which pays homage to trees, and the deep relationships we have with them.
