Ballaké Sissoko (kora) and Vincent Segal (cello) on the one hand, Vincent Peirani (accordion) and Émile Parisien (saxophone) on the other. When these magicians are involved, 2+2 no longer equals 4, but 1. Together, these well-tempered individuals create a unity of spirit and a fluidity of sound that’s completely devoid of ego, all in the interest of the common musical good. Neither jazz nor traditional, neither classical nor avant-garde, but a little of each at once, this quartet marks out an independent poetic space where the ear is the lead instrument. Where virtuosity is expressed first and foremost in the art of working together. Where the simple yet lofty desire to listen to others results in the birth of a unique four-part song.
