Festival of the Sound: Welcome Back to the Circle

The Spirit Horse Returns” weaves together a beautiful chamber music score by Kevin Lau with songs by Jodi Contin, themes by Andrew Balfour, and overall direction by Ken MacDonald. The stunning visual art of Rhonda Snow serves as the backdrop for Indigenous storytelling about the Ojibwe Horses, who traditionally lived closely with First Nations and Métis as helpers and spirit guides. Through a journey across generations, the show serves as a powerful, family-friendly call for reconciliation, celebrating the diverse people who united to rescue a rare breed from the brink of extinction.
