Featuring Bach’s dialogue cantata, Selig ist der Mann BWV 57, and cantatas by Dietrich Buxtehude, this program explores themes of suffering, consolation, and joy. Performed by Musica Lucis, a Montreal-based vocal and instrumental Baroque ensemble, the concert features emerging musicians that specialize in historical performance. The program includes Buxtehude’s Ich habe Lust abzuscheiden and Ich halte es dafür, alongside Bach’s Selig ist der Mann.
