The close symbiosis between Diana Léon and Paco Ziel, both artists with Vías, transcends the singularity of their respective practices. Recently awarded the Prix Révélation by the Prix de la danse de Montréal, the company is thriving. Together with baritone Olivier Bergeron and pianist Chloé Dumoulin, Vías now draws on the vast corpus of Schubert’s lieder, a genre that the Austrian composer brought to a pinnacle, offering us spiritual enrichment. A vibrant exchange takes place between dance, music and voice, giving form to a quest for introspection and communion. The work unfolds freely in the space, elevated by the lieder’s profound humanity. A dance concert that envelops and moves.
Co-produced by Salle Bourgie, National Arts Centre and Domaine Forget de Charlevoix.
