  • Opéra de Montréal presented Don Giovanni on November 12, 2016, which satisfied most audiences. The opera is playing again on the 15, 17 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. Christophe Rodriguez of Journal de Montréal talks about the success of the opera.   • Baritone, pharmacologist and businessman, Sir Ralph Kohn, died on Friday at the age of 88. Rhinegold recalls his debut in classical music and how he became of benefactor for various musical causes.

  • The Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra named Maximilian Junghanns as second Concertmaster. The 29-year-old German violinist was part of their orchestra since 2012. The Violin Channel has more details on his music background. 

 

  • Dr. Polina Weidmann, editor of the complete Tchaikovsky edition, has died at the age of 69. Her entire adult life was devoted to the study of Tchaikovsky scores, as Slipped Disc describes.
