Montréal, October 25, 2023 – It is with great excitement that Opéra de Montréal will be hosting the 7th edition of its Talent Gala on Thursday, November 9 at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, returning to a sumptuous format not experienced since 2019. Culminating point of the Atelier lyrique’s National Auditions for Singers, this magical and festive evening is the annual gathering of Montreal’s philanthropic and cultural community to support the Opéra de Montréal’s mission and propel Canada’s next generation of opera singers. For the first time this year, the company has opened up access to a larger number of opera lovers, thanks to an exclusive offer of tickets ($195) for the cocktail and concert portions of the evening.
At the Talent Gala, the 12 finalists from the National Auditions, selected from over 100 artists across Canada, will compete for a spot in the prestigious two-year artist residency. “This year’s artists were chosen from an immense national search deployed in 4 Canadian cities and virtual auditions.”, says Jennifer Szeto, Director of Atelier lyrique. “They represent some of the richest talent in operatic singing today and we are proud to witness and celebrate each of their unique potential in this exciting stage of their careers.”, she shares. Opéra de Montréal would also like to take this opportunity to thank its partner in the National Auditions, Vanda Treiser.

Justine Ledoux, mezzo (Montreal, QC)
Elias Theocaridis, tenor (Toronto, ON)
