Joliette, June 26, 2026 — From July 3 to August 2, Festival de Lanaudière presents a summer program designed especially for families, bringing together free activities, musical discoveries, outdoor movies and affordable ticket prices. It is an invitation to experience classical music in a different way—through a welcoming, interactive atmosphere open to all ages.
The Open House Day, Outdoor Cinema and the BaroQUOI? performance will offer young audiences several opportunities to discover music and explore the Festival grounds. Families can also enjoy every Amphitheatre concert from the lawn section, which provides a relaxed setting, while the Beyond the Walls series invites audiences to discover cultural and agrotourism destinations throughout the Lanaudière region.
A FULL DAY OF FAMILY FUN AT THE FESTIVAL
On Sunday, July 5, beginning at noon, the Fernand-Lindsay Amphitheatre will welcome families for a large Open House. Throughout the afternoon, children and adults alike will enjoy introductory music workshops, play a public piano and explore an educational trail highlighting the Amphitheatre, its natural surroundings and its history. Families are also encouraged to bring a picnic and relax on the lawn.
At 4 p.m., Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal will present Comme en Italie! : Madrigaux italiens.. This free, interactive concert transports audiences to Renaissance Italy through songs filled with poetry, humour and elegance. The performers will sing among the audience, inviting everyone to become part of the musical experience.
Beginning at 8 p.m., the day concludes with an outdoor screening of Disney’s Fantasia, where animation meets some of classical music’s greatest masterpieces. Participants are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite Disney character.
Open House Day is completely free—including parking—and no reservation is required.
MOVIES UNDER THE STARS
Throughout July, the lawn of the Fernand-Lindsay Amphitheatre will become an open-air cinema for five free movie nights. The site opens at 6 p.m., allowing visitors to settle in and enjoy the summer atmosphere before screenings begin at approximately 8 p.m. Popcorn, snacks and refreshments will be available on site.
Several screenings will feature themed evenings encouraging children and adults alike to dress up and fully embrace the festive atmosphere. Prizes and surprises will also be awarded to participants who join in the fun.

Children and adults are invited to wear their pajamas and bring their favourite stuffed animal.

Theme: Back to 2006 – Celebrating 20 Years!
Bring back your 2000s style to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this beloved musical classic.
July 30 – Le fantôme de l’opéra
Theme: Masquerade Ball
Masks and elegant attire are encouraged for this magical evening under the stars.
The outdoor movie series is hosted by Place des Arts, presented by the Cities of Joliette and Notre-Dame-des-Prairies, in collaboration with O 103.5 Lanaudière. Parking is free for all movie nights.
BaroQUOI? : A FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH BAROQUE MUSIC
On July 16 at 7 p.m., the wooded grounds of the Carrefour culturel de Notre-Dame-des-Prairies will host BaroQUOI?, a fun and interactive performance presented by Les Idées heureuses in collaboration with Festival de Lanaudière.
What is Baroque music? Where does that instrument that looks like a piano but sounds more like a guitar come from? Featuring soprano Catherine St-Arnaud and harpsichordist Dorothéa Ventura, this engaging musical encounter blends humour, virtuosity and audience interaction while introducing children and adults to the colourful world of Baroque music.
Presented as part of the Notre-Dame-des-Prairies Family Series, BaroQUOI? is free and open to everyone. In case of rain, the performance will move indoors to the Carrefour culturel.
A CONCERT EXPERIENCE THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN ENJOY
Every concert presented at the Fernand-Lindsay Amphitheatre can become a family outing thanks to the lawn section. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic, blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy the spacious green setting surrounding the Amphitheatre.
This relaxed format allows parents and children to experience concerts in their own way. While adults enjoy the music and the natural surroundings, younger children have the freedom to move around more easily on the lawn. Everyone can enjoy the performance at their own pace while sharing the same artistic experience.
The Hors-les-murs series offers another family-friendly way to discover music. Presented in churches, cultural venues and agrotourism destinations throughout Lanaudière, these concerts combine live music with opportunities to explore the region’s heritage, landscapes and local attractions. Each performance becomes the perfect excuse for a summer getaway.
MAKING CONCERTS MORE ACCESSIBLE
AN INVITATION TO SHARE MUSIC AS A FAMILY
In addition to its free programming, Festival de Lanaudière offers several special ticket programs designed to make its regular season more accessible for young people and families.
Through these initiatives, the Festival hopes to create more opportunities for audiences to discover and connect with classical music. Whether through a workshop, an interactive concert, an outdoor movie, a picnic on the lawn or a visit to one of the region’s cultural or agrotourism sites, every activity becomes a gateway to a memorable artistic experience shared as a family.
FREE FOR AGES 17 AND UNDER
Children and teenagers aged 17 and under receive free admission to the Amphitheatre lawn section when accompanied by an adult. Valid photo identification is required.
50% OFF FOR AGES 25 AND UNDER
Festivalgoers aged 25 and under receive 50% off tickets for all concerts during the season, excluding the Beyond the Walls series. Valid identification is required.
$15 WITH A CIVIS CARD
Eligible residents of the Greater Joliette area may purchase lawn tickets for $15 by presenting a valid CIVIS card. This offer is available on the day of the concert, subject to eligibility conditions.
