Montreal, Thursday, July 16, 2015 — The new season of Jazz All-Year Round, presented by TD, features even more fabulous concerts! Tickets go on sale Saturday, July 18 at noon.

Emilie & Ogden, October 2, 8 p.m., Gesù — Emilie & Ogden is Emilie Kahn and her harp, Ogden. After memorable performances at the NXNE festival in Toronto and the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal this summer, as well as opening slots for Half Moon Run and Patrick Watson, Emilie and her musicians Jesse Mac Cormack (guitar, bass, banjo and vocals) and Francis Ledoux (drums) are ready to fly out for the Iceland Airwaves Festival in November. Just before the flight, the band offers this concert-launch sampling of 10 000, their debut album, due for release the very same day on Secret City Records.

Kat Edmonson, October 17, 8 p.m., L’Astral — The young Texas singer with the singular voice and a certain Jean Seberg je ne sais quoi made her name revisiting the great jazz standards, but also songs by John Lennon and Bob Dylan before unveiling her own compositions. By popular demand after her concert at the Festival this summer, she returns with The Big Picture, a fusion of ’50s and ’70s pop, today’s pop-rock and her passion for film, a central inspirational driving force. A soothingly sensual musical experience with a visual component, a show that slips out of the bonds of time. Enchanting!

George Thorogood and The Destroyers, May 7, 8 p.m., Métropolis — George Thorogood and his loyal Destroyers are back in their fave venue, the Métropolis, a place they pack every time they visit! Year after year, their timeless blues-rock, influenced by that tough ’50s Chicago sound, is one of the great automatic rock’n’roll guarantees for fans of all ages. Let’s face it: when it comes to burning up a stage, this iconic frontman/guitarist, the man behind the immortal Bad to the Bone, has no equal! And the group wears its 41 years well, as promised by the name of their new tour, Badder than ever!

A non-profit organization, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal is pursuing its mission of disseminating and developing jazz and its musical cousins for the 15th year in a row, by reinvesting its potential surpluses in the presentation of special concerts at its Jazz All-Year Round series. With support from public partners, specifically, the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) and Canadian Heritage, it can thus offer Montrealers and visitors to the city the chance to experience the rhythms of jazz all-year round! The Festival also highlights the support of the Maison du Festival Rio Tinto Alcan, official host of the Jazz All Year Round series, as well as the support of Bell and the Hyatt Regency Montréal, partner and official hotel of the series, respectively.
