Two stellar flutists, Susan Hoeppner and Luisa Sello will play two beautiful double concertos – a Baroque favourite by Vivaldi, and the world premiere of a picturesque work by Alice Ping Yee Ho. The new work’s title, “Three Birds: Celestial Concerto for Two Flutes and Strings” reflects inspiration from three traditions: Italy, China and Indigenous Canadian. Music Director Nurhan Armanwill also lead the orchestra in Vivaldi’s Sinfonia in G, Glazounov’s romantic-Russian Theme and Variations, and the beautiful folk-inspired Suite by Janacek.
