Halifax bass-baritone Jon-Paul Decosse begins tonight’s concert with Samuel Barber’s take on James Joyce and Ravel’s take on Don Quixote. We’ll also hear Copland’s tribute to a beloved friend killed in WWII, Prokofiev’s stylish Sonata for two violins, written in the south of France in 1932, and Mozart’s lovesong to three of his favourite instruments.
