Carson Becke and Chamberfest are delighted to launch The Brahms Expedition — Becke’s brand-new, multi-concert exploration of the gorgeous sonata repertoire of Johannes Brahms, presented in partnership with Chamberfest.

Join us this afternoon for the opening chapter of this series, featuring a programme of musical beginnings. Pianist Carson Becke is joined by National Arts Centre Orchestra violinist Jeremy Mastrangelo and cellist Julia MacLaine for a performance of Brahms’s Violin Sonata No. 1, Cello Sonata No. 1, and Piano Trio No. 1. Witness Brahms’s first forays into these classic forms and discover how they lay the foundation for the great composer’s chamber music legacy.

More installments of The Brahms Expedition are on the horizon — this is the start of a remarkable musical journey that you won’t want to miss.
