In March 1721, Johann Sebastian Bach sent the dedicated autograph copy of the Brandenburg Concertos to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg, who had commissioned the works. This year the six concertos will be featured at the Bach Festival in Köthen where these crown jewels of Baroque music were composed 300 years ago. The Festival Bach Montréal is delighted to also take part in the celebrations to mark this momentous 300thanniversary with an exceptional performance by conductor Nicolas Ellis and L’Orchestre de l’Agora.
