Music Niagara Festival: An Evening of Gypsy Jazz with Club Django Toronto

0

Back by popular demand, Music Niagara welcomes Club Django Toronto for another exhilarating evening beneath the beautiful Music Niagara Festival Tent at Ironwood Cider House.

Inspired by the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt, Gypsy jazz—also known as jazz manouche—combines the expressive traditions of Romani guitar with the infectious swing of 1930s Parisian jazz. Reinhardt’s revolutionary style, made famous through the Quintette du Hot Club de France with violinist Stéphane Grappelli, continues to inspire musicians and audiences around the world.

For more than 25 years, Club Django Toronto has been a leading voice for Gypsy swing in Canada and remains Toronto’s longest-running ensemble dedicated to this electrifying style. The group has earned national recognition, including a National Jazz Award nomination for Best Acoustic Group and the Canadian Collectors Congress Award for Album of the Year.

With dazzling guitar work, soaring violin melodies, and irresistible swing rhythms, Club Django Toronto delivers a performance that is both musically thrilling and wonderfully entertaining.

Guests are invited to arrive early at 5:00 PM to enjoy food options available for purchase, along with Ironwood’s signature cider and wine, before the concert begins at 7:00 PM.

A magical summer evening of Gypsy swing, virtuosic musicianship, and timeless jazz—live at Music Niagara.
