Cecilia Concerts Presents: Lebanese-Canadian mezzo-soprano Julie Nesrallah is accompanied by one of our country’s most esteemed concert pianists, Robert Kortgaard, for opera, big hair, and grande passione in a deliciously entertaining afternoon of Italian art songs, torchy ballads, and musical theatre curiosities. From the intimate virtuosity of grand opera in Carmen on Tap, to host of CBC Radio 2’s classical music staple Tempo, Julie Nesrallah’s emotive voice and sultry personality have beguiled audiences of leading opera companies, symphonies, and chamber music ensembles around the world. Well-known to the Cecilia Concerts’ stage for the past thirty years, internationally renowned Robert Kortgaard is a graduate of the Juilliard School who has collaborated with many of the top classical performers in the world.
Julie Nesrallah, mezzo-soprano libano-canadienne, est accompagnée par Robert Kortgaard, l’un des pianistes de concert les plus estimés du pays, pour une après-midi divertissante d’opéras et de passion enchaînant chansons italiennes, ballades torrides et curiosités musicales. De la virtuosité intime du grand opéra de Carmen-on-Tap à Tempo, émission de musique classique de CBC Radio 2, la voix émouvante et la personnalité sensuelle de Julie Nesrallah ont séduit le public des principales compagnies d’opéra, des orchestres symphoniques et de musique de chambre du monde entier. Connu depuis trente ans sur la scène des Concerts Cecilia, Robert Kortgaard, diplômé de l’école Juilliard, a collaboré avec de nombreux interprètes classiques du monde entier.
