(Re) discover with us some of Francesco Geminiani Lucca’s bubbling sonatas during this concert commented by Geneviève Soly.
This great musician was born in Italy in 1687 and died in 1762 in Dublin at the age of 74. Virtuoso violinist and brilliant composer, his work is little known today. However, this talented musician greatly contributed to improving the technique of the violin and his work was recognized of equal quality to that of Corelli or Handel. His passionate compositions combine different styles to offer a true synthesis of baroque music.
They will be interpreted by the first chairs of Idées heureuses, Laura Andriani on violin and Elinor Frey on cello, accompanied by Dorothéa Ventura and Amanda Keesmaat on continuo.
