The first Dorothéa Ventura – Carte blanche concert immerses us in the captivating world of the chaconne—the renowned dance that was very popular with composers down through the centuries. Dazzling at times, touching, exhilarating, or sorrowful at others… it offers a fascinatingly vast palette of expression. Dorothéa and Les Idées heureuses are delighted to be sharing this musical form, the centrepiece of several great vocal works and instrumental suites from the mid-17 th to 18 th centuries.
