Concerts Centr’art presents an intimate and refined evening featuring exceptional graduates of the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute, Canada’s premier training center for tomorrow’s opera stars. This unique artistic experience immerses the audience at the heart of the performance. In a production directed by Nathalie Deschamps, artistic coordinator of CVAI, spectators are literally surrounded by the artists, immersed in the emotional intensity of each aria.
On the program: the greatest opera arias and ensembles by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet and other legendary composers, carefully selected to bring to life the dramatic intensity of opera, from passionate love stories to heart-wrenching tragedies.
🎤 The Artists
Lise Nougier, soprano (France)
Passionate and promising lyric soprano, trained at the CNSM in Paris where she obtained her master’s degree in lyric singing before joining the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute. Her velvety and round voice, characterized by a luminous and silvery high register, is distinguished by a rare richness of timbre. This tessitura allows her to approach demanding roles with natural elegance, such as Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Mimi in Puccini’s La Bohème, or Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen.
Natasha Henry, soprano (Canada)
Recognized for her “seductive timbre,” Quebec soprano Natasha Henry captivates with the warmth of her voice and the sincerity of her interpretations. Winner of the audience award at the prestigious Talent Gala of the Atelier Lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, she has embodied several leading roles including Laetitia (The Old Maid and the Thief), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Dido (Dido and Aeneas) and Croûte-au-pot (Mesdames de la Halle). She is currently completing her master’s degree at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and already performs with numerous ensembles in Canada.
Emmanuel Hasler, tenor (France)
Lyric-spinto tenor Emmanuel Hasler began his training at the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles before joining the CNSM in Paris, then came to study at the Université de Montréal (master’s and doctorate). A regular guest soloist with our major ensembles and choirs in Quebec, this versatile singer masters operetta, opera, early music, Lieder and French mélodie equally well. He participated in the complete recordings of Massenet’s mélodies for ATMA classique.
Queen Hezumuryango, mezzo-soprano (Burundi-Canada)
