For his new opus, “Generation Quartet”, Yannick Rieu returns in quartet format (piano, double bass, drums, and saxophones). Since his professional debut, Rieu has always been navigating between so-called electric or electronic projects (Non Acoustic Project, Spectrum, Da Li, MachiNations) and those based on acoustic instrumentation (L’art du Trio, Balade Ballades, Saint-Gervais – the latter project received the “CHOC” award from French magazine Jazzman). These different pathways converge, enriching one another and allowing Rieu to approach each project with an originality and relevance lauded by critics and much appreciated by the public. The primary goal of this project «Génération Quartet» is to favor a dialogue between various generations of musicians.
