Collectif9 celebrates 10 ans !

Montreal, October 25, 2021 – Montreal’s chamber ensemble collectif9 celebrates their 10th anniversary in concert at Théâtre Plaza on November 20th at 7:30pm. The event will present a retrospective of the group’s last 10 years in music while honouring their collaborators and musical community, showcasing this generation of Montreal’s musical creators. The evening includes performances by guests Myriam Boucher and Pierre-Luc Lecours (composers, performers, and video artists), Quatuor Andara, and Les Petits Violons.

collectif9 will perform works from their past albums, film-concerts, and shows, including original arrangements that have never been played in Montreal — and some not even for a live audience. The public will hear works by Montreal composers Nicole Lizée, Geof Holbrook, and Boucher/Lecours, as well as works by Jlin, Dessner, Golijov, Bartok, Mahler, and Purcell, either written for the group or arranged for collectif9 by the ensemble’s bassist and artistic director Thibault Bertin-Maghit. This music has formed the identity of collectif9 since their beginnings in 2011.
