The Calgary Phil’s season comes to a rousing finish with Gustav Mahler’s monumental Second Symphony, conducted by Rune Bergmann in his final concert as Music Director. Soprano Jacquelyn Wagner, mezzo-soprano Marianne Beate Kielland, and the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus join the Orchestra in this profound work, which the composer described as being “battered to the ground and then raised on angel’s wings to the highest heights.”
