The 112th edition of the Concours Prix d’Europe, presented by the Académie de musique du Québec, will be held from June 2 to 8 at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. Around 30 outstanding young musicians will compete for a dozen prizes, including the prestigious $50,000 scholarship offered to the winner by the Department of Culture and Communications. The Prix d’Europe is an annual scholarship, which was established in 1911 by J.-Arthur Paquet. He was a businessman, organist, and, at the time, treasurer of the Académie de musique du Québec. Montréal, March 28 2024 – Since 2018, Montreal opera creation company Musique 3 Femmes has been creating, developing and producing new operas by female composers and librettists. After nearly 6 years of existence, the company has now created 12 new chamber operas. Support for this was provided by the Mécénat Musica Prix 3 Femmes and various arts councils and foundations. Pandemic arts council funding afforded us the opportunity to transform four of these operas into films.
