Holiday season fairy tale concert

The Orchestre de chambre de la Montérégie, under the musical direction of Nicolas Ellis, accompanied by dancers from the École supérieure de ballet du Québec, is pleased to present its first webcast production free of charge to the public. This initiative allows us to continue our mission to give more people access to music and the performing arts, to support the next generation and musical education, as well as maintaining the Orchestra’s excellence.

This ensemble, founded by Marie-Anne Rozankovic, who is also its artistic director, has the mission of training the next generation of musicians and propelling them towards a professional career.

Collaborations that make a difference

The musicians distinguish themselves each season by playing a varied repertoire under the direction of renowned guest conductors, including those of the Orchestre Métropolitain (OM). Indeed, we are fortunate to welcome conductor Nicolas Ellis for the 2020-2021 season. This collaboration between the OSCM and the OM, established since 2014, allows young musicians to obtain a solid musical training.

In addition, the OSCM has been collaborating for several years with choreographer Anne Dryburgh and the dancers of the École supérieure de ballet du Québec. This union between music and dance allows young musicians to perform on stage and perfect their art in various productions.

The Orchestra also collaborates with the vocal ensembles of the École de musique Vincent-d’Indy. This unique synergy within the same institution allows musicians and ensemble members to come together on stage each year with emblematic works such as Mozart’s and Fauré’s Requiems. The OSCM and the École de musique Vincent-d’Indy also organize a concerto competition. In addition to a scholarship for excellence, the winner has the chance to perform a concerto movement in one of the OSCM’s programmed concerts. This year’s winner is violinist Benjamin Seah.
